Thanks for the permission to board. I was in RVAH-9 from 4/64 till 10/67., a PT, an unusual rating I guess since it isn't listed among the options on several Hoot Owl web sites. I live on an island off the coast of Maine, my home town and am enjoying myself.
Thanks John, pleased to be aboard. I was in rvah-3 in1969 and1970. Really great mates. Transferred to oceana va. to vf-14 Tophatters. The ra5c was great training for the phantom-2. Loved the Vigilante. A snappy hand salute to the officers and men, Saw a ra5c in florida. It looked like me, well used. Bill
Thanks John. Good to be here. I was an AT. Went to Sanford for shore duty out of "A" school. Shipped over for "B" school and then Back to Sanford to RVAH-5. Made a 9 mo. med cruise on the America and then the following year we were the last fleet squadron to leave NAS Sanford for a Viet Nam cruise on the Constellation. I transferred out of the squadron upon arrival back at NAS Albany. I spent less than 2 hours at Albany. I got lost out of Bupers computer on a tour of instructor duty at NAMTRADET-1017, Kingsville, TX. Spent five years on a three year instructor tour. If they hadn't found me I might still be on active duty. After K'ville I went to VA-146, Lemoore CA then back to Millington for a tour as an instructor. I retired off the USS Guam.
