  • Glad  to see you were in R6/7!   I was also , brother in R-7 !   happy birthday !!

  • After all these years and you still remember a squadron party in Barcelona??  It was a good one wasn't it. Yes I finally did make Chief, but it took me 20 years...still got to make two Med cruises on the Nimitz, which had a great CPO Mess.....John
  • Gary....never made to Albany,GA....moved about 6 months before Sanford got transfered to Albany...and sorry, don't remember a Winton Lowery.....looks like your looking for someone else......like I said before was a North American Aviation Tech Rep stationed with VAH-7 in 62 and 63....then the Avionics Shop from 64 to 68 at Sanford....keep in touch if I can help even though I couldn't this time....Pete
  • Boy, its getting tough to remember everybody from 40 plus years ago. You sent me an email so you know I was a NAA Rep on the ASB-12 Bomb/Nav system, test equipment and module repair.... I was in VAH-7 from Feb 1962 to the last Med cruise in Nov 63 and then in the Avionics shop from Nov 63 to Dec 68 when I left Sanford.....so please help me to identify you and where you were during that time....but your name is definitely familiar.....so bear with me and we'll talk....my email is hobospete@windstream.net..
  • Gary

  • Hi Gary,

Glad to hear from you as I have wondered where you were. I live in Waco, Texas. Retired from the Navy in 1983 and retired for good in 2006, from a Aircraft Defense Contractor here in Waco. My email address is rdfritz@hughes.net. I'd love to hear from and about you and your family...

    Ron
  • Hey Gary,
My real email address is bfwoodard@sbcglobal.net. I just talked to
Terry Reed. He is in Milton, FL. I stayed with him when I went to the RA5C reunion last June.
I live in Arlington, TX. Have been here since '88. When I retired from USNavy, I got into the flight simulation business first as an instructor teaching maint. and later on a System Test Engineer. Let me hear from you.

    Woody
  • No, I am not in Bagio!! I am in Arlington, TX. I have been here for over twenty years and just retired in January from the flight simulation bidness.
Yes I remember the H7 cheer.

    Woody
  • Hi Gary - how have you been?? To answer your question, We are midway between Cleveland, OH and Akron OH (south) and Youngstown, OH (east). Where are you? I still talk to Basil Woodard, Terry Reed and Hans Pledger via Email. Saw some of the guys at the reunion, John Majoros, Tom Neil, Dave Suitor.... Got a chance to re-live some great memories - those were some times! Sad about some of the guys. I kept up with Eben Barnett for a while - talked to him a week or so before he passed. Where did you go after Namtra Key West? I wound up staying in for the whole nine yards and glad I did - I actually was the OinC of Namtradet Willow Grove outside Philly for my last two years. It was P-3b's and got some great trips outta that. My Son is an AT-1 at NAS JAX in W/C 610 or whatever they call it now - he's at the CPO board - if he gets lucky, with a little tail wind, he'll put it on in September - I'm there, for sure.

My god, I'm glad I worked for you for a time - I learned alot, very quickly and I must say the fruits of your labor were partly responsible for me makin' 9 in 17 years - Freakin Pledger made a year ahead of me - he was a 3rd class forever and I see him in the hall of Namtra Cecil as a 9!!! I must of looked pretty dumb with my mouth hangin' open for so long !

What do you do these days? Fully Retired? Do you miss the planes? I know I do -
I ran my mouth enough. Take care and Be safe - - John

Hey Gary - Thanks shipmate !!!!!
