John. I as on the Saratoga my first duty station after a school.in PHILLY, for 1 year 68, to 69. went to ICELAND for 1 year, then RVAH3 my last 2 years.
Thanks John. I served at RVAH 3 in Supply. I was their from Feb.69 to Dec. 71. I worked the window in supply, handing out flight packets to pilots.& delivering parts to other Squartons on base. Went on several Carquals with the Squadron. Kennedy 2 time's Forestall, Midway, & part of shore attachment for USS America, CVA 66. I grew my beard their & still have it. At time of service I lived in Chicago. Now I'm a retired Sheet Metal Journeymen, from local 73 Chicago. Living in Michigan, On the largest inland lake in Mi. Guess it's the navy in me to be by water.
Thank you vy much John. I came via the overhead imaging world (both company and govt agency), tech oriented and never out in harm's way like you gents whom I admire. Been flying for 43 yrs tho, now civ geezer volunteer pilot for USCG here in New England.
Thanks, RVAH 6, 70-74, Kittyhawk, America, Forrestall quals. Kittyhawk was west pac. America was supposed to be Med. Then plans were changed and back to the Gulf we went. We were blessed with the shell back initiation on the way to South Africa from Norfolk.

Thanks. I was at the comission of VAH 13 in 1961 Sanford , FLA. Stayed with VAH 13 as went to crewman / navigator school with VAH 13 until 1963 then assigned to VAH 123 . logged over 900 hours in A3. Visiting several carriers from the stern. Great memories Glad to be aboard.
