Indeed I believe we have met, I was mostly in VAH-1 & VAH-11 Det 8 and on occaison in VAH-3. I too was an AQ. I had a 57 Porsche 356A cabriolet and before that a new 63 VW Beattle and before that a Vespa motorscooter. My closest friends were Larry Sparks and Tom Rupe who had a Sunbeam Alpine. I went on to Albany, GA when we went to Vigilantes. I got out in late 68 and went to work at NASA for Apollo 11. At the end of that I came back in with VA-34 with A6A's in Virginia Beach. I got out for good in 71. I am still working for the US Forest Service in Fire Management in Prescott, AZ.
That is why I don't remember you, I was an AQ....I knew Gene, Harry, and Larry from the working the ASB Line.....I never worked at the ASB modular shop....I worked the line at night pre-flighting the A3D Skywarriors....very seldom worked on the RA5C's....for some reason Steeby sounds familair but not sure.about him....do you have any contact information on Harry....Gene and I with our wives are suppose to have lunch next week....he lives in St. Petersburg Florida and I live about 60 miles north of him....found this information out from Larry last November when he called me out of the blue....really I have not seen or heard from any of them since I left in March of 1968.....did you know John Gibbons, Bob Goodwillie or James Palbicki.....all three of them have passed away.......
Ed, I was not in ASB shop. I was an AT and worked at IMA in the module repair shop. I was friends with Gene Egan, Harry Allen, Larry Lynch, Dave Steeby and a few others who worked in the ASB shop. We played a lot of Pinochle on the off payday weekends.
