Thanks on the dog. Yup, he's my good buddy for life. Been to Moultonboro quite often in the past. My son lived there and worked for Independent Marine up until a few years ago. He lived in the Oliver farm house on Sheriden Rd. Nice area, used to come up to see him from Henniker, NH which is where I live.
Pete, did you ever know a fellow named Brockett....Can't remember his first name, but he was in a few other squadrons before I met in in Heavy-3....Are you a golfer? I live in Sugarmill Woods and golf at World Woods....ED
Peter, I'm gonna keep taking them and celebrating as long as they keep coming. After 70, I think they are all big, but I had Grandparents on both sides that lived up into their 80's and one in his 90's so I'm kinda looking forward to a few more (I hope). My Grandfather that lived to be 98 wasn't sick nor frail, in fact he was pursuing some ole broad at the Senior Citizen's home and just didn't notice that she took a left at the top of the stairs. Sadly he didn't make it to the bottom of the first flight. You really got to be careful in the pursuit of females, they are crafty and dangerous.
Thanks Peter for your comment. I was in Dallas and close to the storms. I actually live close to Austin. The kids all live in the Dallas area and gave me a party. Was in VAH-6 from 57 to 59. So now what does a person do after 80? PLAY GOLF.
Thanks for the Birthday wish Pete, 86 now ant seems like eons ago that I was in heavy six. that was before the R;s took over. left there in '63, thanks again for the good wishes.
Pete, I have lived here more than thirty years and have a condo just behind the Holiday Inn and now amusement park but still very near the beach. Plus we have free access to all the facilities. The value in that time went from $29000 to $80000
I haven't been there in some time but my wife says it is well maintained..
About 4 years ago an infection in my legs flared terribly and I lost both legs at the knees it is a bit inconvenient but the VA (treating it as service connected) treated me very well in Houston. There was a 10 minute wait for a bed and a doctor was there at midnight when I arrived from Brownsville. The doc. at the nearby Harlingen, TX clinic must have used strong language!! Thank goodness. I was there for several months anyway - very well taken care of. I am still alive after 6 years military and 24 years in U. S. Customs. down here there is more combat than in the 'Nam.
