Is your family from Norway? I think that I remember you. You can call me at 609-771-9727or email me at lawrence.lynch@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
That was really tough, stranded in Paris for 5 days, paid hotel etc. The TRIP back was looooooooooooooong... Train from Paris back to Cannes, bus to Nice, C-130 to Athens and COD back to JFK for tail-hook landing.
I currently have a Corvair convertible, not on the road tho.
Finally a person I remember. Thought I was loosing my memory. I was in the RVAH-3 ASB shop where we did the OJT for the AQs before their fleet assignment. I remember the large group for RVAH-14 and you were around for awhile as 14 got a couple of delays for the start-up. I usually worked the night shift and I think I was an E-5 at that time. Glad to see you are a member here, I'm a member of H-3 and H-13. Did my 4 years and returned here to Michigan.
Welcome aboard. I'm guessing you were with RVAH 14 before I got there in '73. I got to build the floor in the new shop in Key West. 2 hammers and a hand saw, not exactly what I trained for. :o)
"Joe,
It is nice to connect with someone I remember that far back (43 Years). My email address is waynewoxland@hotmail.com. I would love to hear from you."
"I knew an AE Joe Walker while in RVAH14 - TAD to the ASB Shop IMA on board Kennedy. in 1968-69. He had a Corvair, and got stranded on a trip while we were in France. Does any of this sound familiar?"
"Dennis, I was a Plank Owner of RVAH 14 and the USS John F. Kennedy. I came aboard when heavy 14 was formed in 1968. I got our in May 1970, just before they moved to Key West. We moved the Sanford Base to Albany, GA.
You may have served with a great…"
"Larry,
You were in the RVAH 3 ASB shop and we were fresh out of Memphis. You Curt Wachals, Pat Brady, And I think his name was Fudge (he later became chief), and a First Class who was shot down in WWII. I remember your famous saying - "No brag, just…"
"Lwrence Lynch - theat's a fact! Lawrence Lynch. ASB shop?
