I was in H-5 from Dec 72 - Jul 76. CDR Austin and I flew down to NAS Key West in a Viggie. I was the first reenlistment in the Wing down there. (I was an AT1 at that time.)
Hope you and your family are safe and well.
Wishing you an "early" happy birthday.

Your were my skipper in H-5 and I was a young second class airframes trouble shooter. I reenlisted and transferred to flying H-46's at NAS North Island, SD at NADEP flying test flights and then to HC-11 where I made two Westpacs. I met you again at NAS Alameda, CA. My helo broke down and I needed to change a blade and came up and visited you. That is also when I ran into the marine detachment who was guarding the helos in the hanger. that was a mess. LOL
Hope you are doing well and having a good time. I hope to make a reunion one of these days when I find out when and where. Until then take care.
I hope this finds you doing well getting ready to enjoy the holidays. My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to GA and Florida in the middle of Jan. If time permits I would love to get together with you for coffee. We will be spending our last couple of days in Perry, GA before we fly home and I thought if you would like to get together I could drive up to see you. Let me know what you think. I will give you my e-mail address as it might make it easier to get back to me. I'll also include my cell number. Don' let the area code confuse you. I originally got the phone for my son when he was going through jump school at Fort Henning. I just never changed the number. Anyway think about and let me know what you think.
Thanks for your interest in the upcoming H5 reunion. Can you send me your contact info (email - cell #) so I can add you to my distribution list. Also, do you have a preference to a location to the hold the reunion?? My only preference is where the mass's want to go to allow for maximum participation.
Great Pictures Skipper, thanks for sharing, they did bring back lots of memories. I was on The Connie Cruise with in RVAH-5. I hope all is well with you.
Hi Skipper,
I was in RVAH-5 in Key West when we deployed on WestPac 1974....I injured my knee playing basketball for our Squadron, had surgery, and had to transfer to VA-34 in Oceana. I see you live in Greensboro. Not far from Griffin. I play Golf sometimes at Reynolds Plantation and would love to look you up some day. Hope you are well!. Ken
"Thanks Bill. Gosh what a memory you have, so many years ago.
I later bought a Honda 175 to commute at Key West and wound up being kicked off the thing at about 40 mph on the highway from NAS to Key West by a member of the Outlaws motorcycle gang.…"
"Good to have you surface, Mike. I have thought about where you might be. Come to Georgia and hit the golf ball here at Reynolds Plantation. Hello to Dianne.
