Dennis, I met the squadron in June or July after you returned from the Med. I was a Seaman Apprentice at the time and left as a PN2 in October 69. I remember going to the paraloft and finding Erny Parker asleep on a stool with a cup of coffee in his hand swaying with the mental roll on the ship.
This is Joe Long...we made a Med cruise on the America. Been trying to locate former squadron mates but not a lot of luck. I did find Andy Anderson, he and I worked in the personnel office. Also searching the internet found the obituary for David Oliver. He passed away at the young age of 52 in South Carolina.
Hopefully we can locate more of our RVAH-5 shipmates. Would be nice to hear back from you.
"Glad to hear from a shipmate I remember. Many good memories. Where do you live now. I live in MN summers and AZ winters. Hate the cold now that I am getting old, retired and can get away."
"Have been in touch with Don Casey. He lives in Daytona and I visited him about 5 years ago. Have tried to get in touch with some of the guys. No luck. You are the only one I have been in touch with. I found a site a couple of years ago with a bunch…"
"Victor. This is Dennis Hoel. I was a parachute rigger while we served together while at Sanford and on the America and Constellation. You can reach me @ denhoel@gmail.com. Would be nice to talk thing over. Not many people we may know on list of…"

Dennis,
I lost your email address and telephone number but this is the site you were going to tell me about isn't it?

Hi Dennis!
I remember you well.
That is "Killer Tiller" on a Med cruise.
Yes it is a shame that there are not more members of the squadron we knew.
It would be fun to chat with more of the group.
I have been in contact with a few shipmates, how about you?
Dennis,
My names Phil Tucker a.k.a.Stick
