  • I make it to Scott occasionally -- but it is a 70+ mile round trip -- so it's not often.  Thanks again for the heads up on the profile.  I'll get it fixed when I figure out how!

  • The dummy is stumped right off the bat...  How do I "fix" my profile to reflect correct info about where I reside now?  When I inserted my DOB I thought the location was supposed to be where that occurred.  Was I not supposed to say that?  Alan Dooley

  • I was with Heavy 11 after 4weeks plane captain training ( came from NAS JAX AO A school 4 months) in Heavy 3. Didn’t finish, went to to the KittyHawk and WestPac 67-68. Got back and as an AO was transferred from Albany,Ga. to NAS Oceana VA65. Finished my 4 years with 65.

  • Welcome Aboard Brad!

"Well, we're in the Golden Corner, SC mountains a few miles east of Rabun County, Georgia and a few miles south of western North Carolina so we do miss your seafood, but we love our cool mountain air!"

Brad Jones commented on Steven R. Ewing's event NAS Sanford Reunion
"Is this still an active FRA Branch? A couple of years back it seemed to have become a biker joint and we FRA members felt unwelcomed. So, I and others quit going. It used to be FRA Branch 147 when I was a member, but I can't find Branch 147 listed…"

"No, the location is supposed to be where you currently reside. Been so long since I did it, but I see mine is correct so I guess I interpreted it right. Anyway, guess that means you're still hanging out with the Blue Suiters at Scott AFB. At least…"

"Welcome aboard, Alan! Didn't know you had left Waterloo. All of the DD-217 guys are now deceased, sad to say, who were involved with the tombstone you helped get to their WW-2 shipmate's final resting place in Herrin.
