  • Hi Art...This is Ensign Kenny Fields, now Commander, Retired. I was your B-N when you and I trained as an A-3 crew together at the RAG in Sanford back in 1964. Lost track of you but just today read about your exploits during Vietnam, and I'm very proud to have flown with you, Art.... After two Med cruises as an A-3 BN, I got my Navy wings as a pilot in 1967 and then received orders to the first A-7 squadron (VA-82) on the east coast. Two combat cruises to WestPac quickly followed that...1968 aboard America and the second one aboard Coral Sea, 1969-1970. I was shot down in 1968 and later wrote a book about that, 'The Rescue of Streetcar 304'. My email is streetcar304@gmail.com

Went to work for the Mayor of Meridian where we spent 4 terms (16 years) taking care of our city. Retired from the city and went to work for a few years for a Forensic Training and Consulting firm locally. Now at 81 years of age, I am fully retired. I'll give you a call,

What Commands/Squadrons were you with? *Notes* only choose RVAH-3 if you were squadron personnel, all others there for training select the RAG/FRAMP option, IF YOU SELECTED "OTHER" THEN YOU MUST ANSWER ONE OF THE QUESTIONS BELOW. BE SPECIFIC

RVAH-3, RVAH-3 RAG/FRAMP, RVAH-7

If you chose "Other" please list any non CRAW-1/RVAH/VAH commands, if you are Family of an RVAH/VAH Officer or Sailor, Civilian Tech Rep, Historian, Museum or Display location, Invited Guest. If you are a Historian, Museum Employee, or employee at a display location please give us details to help us with a reason to approve you.

I didn't choose "other", but the website would not let me move without answering this question. RVAH-3: Training squadron in Sanford, FL. There we learned to fly on the A5A and RA5C. RVAH-7: This squadron was in Key West, FL. I worked out of NAS Boca Chica flying Vigilantes.
