  Yes I lived in the barracks and no that is not me in the picture and no I drove a Monte Carlo not a mustang

  I was assigned to Heavy 13 in Aug or Sep of 75.  The squadron was actually already on the Indy on the shakedown cruise when I was assigned.  Most of the married personnel were allowed to return to Key West and then when they flew back for the start of the cruise in Oct I went with them.  Made the med cruise on the Indy and then got transferred to Heavy 5 when the squadron decommissioned at the end of the cruise.  I remember having to escort the payroll records all the way back to Key West before I got to start my 30 day leave.  I wanted to fly home from Norfolk but was told no way.  As soon as we got to Key West and I reported and turned over the records I went out on US 1 and started hitchhiking to Miami so I could catch the first flight back to St. Louis.

  Hey Tim, only took me 16 months to answer.  Sorry but I do think I remember you,.  Kind of fuzzy back then, it was so long ago and it was just a fuzzy time, mid 70's and all. Glad you're still with us.
