Hello All!
Thank you for allowing me to join your group!
I am a retired Chief, now researcher for the USS Midway Museum Library conducting research on our exhibit aircraft. I am currently documenting the history of RA-5C, BuNo 156641; e.g., maintainers, plane captains, surviving/notable pilots/RANS/NEBNS, squadron stories/newsletters/urban legend, combat missions, unique facts about this specific a/c, carriers assigned to, historically relevant info, awards, etc..
I am also seeking information regarding carrier suitability tests on USS Midway in December 1960 and carquals in February 1971. I'm trying to determine the BuNos for any Vigilante's that were present during these events as well as any surviving aviators who participated in the events.
Anything you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
Feel free to forward this to any of your cohorts who are interested in preserving our Naval Carrier and Aviation history.
