Thanks Terry! Great to be here. I was a PT then IS in OZ Div aboard the Kitty Hawk, early 73 to mid-76. Got out in June 80 from FicPac, Pearl headed for ONI. Have found a few former PT shipmates but we're still looking for Charlie Johnson. He's on the right. I know he was with us on at least one cruise (73-74 and 75) and thought he lived in FL somewhere. I'll try the sites that Steve Ewing also recommend. Thanks, Ed
RVAH 3 and 9 and 5 were the first squadrons organized in Sanford. Florida of the new "State of the Art" photo. 3 was the training Squadron that we all were TAD'd to, and sent to NATTU. We also worked at the Photo Lab while waiting for the new birds to arrive. That's where I was, doing inventory, listening to the only radio in the lab when the announcement came that President Kennedy was shot in Dallas, Tex. I believe that 5 was the first to be deployed, but then I recall the ...C.O. of 3, Butcher or maybe Butler, was shot down in Vietnam and taken prisoner. The odd number squadrons were first organizing in Sanford, then the even numbers in Oak Harbor. RVAH-Nine was always the coolest, of course. We tried to remove the bomb from the emblem and replace it with a speed graphic, but never succeeded, When did the bomb disappear, and did the green tail go away and if so who do we hunt down, that was a LOL. Anyone know

Thanks Terry,
I wish that they had something like this years ago so that I could have kept up with my fellow squadron members.
