Well it has been a long time since we last spoke, hope you are doing well, living the dream everyday. I have been asked by Lt. Nick Mergo's family for some help. He passed away and the wife is putting together a claim for exposure to A.O.. Do you happen to remember him or anything about his time he spent with us on the Ranger. ? I finally got my claim Granted and waiting for rating, sure takes a long time coming. Hope your are well and I will talk to you later. If you have any info please let me know. Thanks Don
Russ, I don't know off I mentioned this to you before but the reason I asked for the date is because when the ship went into a turn because "man overboard" was called I happened to be in the shower and live steam came out of the shower head and burned me on my shoulder. I got to sick bay and was on a table with ice block on it. Commanders Werner and Russell came in and first thought I was the one. Almost immediately they brought you in and then and then I found out it was you. Looking through some old paperwork I found the paper work for no duty. You are correct on the date of 11-26-64. So happy when I finally found out you made it. No one ever told us !!!!!
Hi Russ, I have been in touch with Ed World and he told me he had talked to you recently. I hope you can make the reunion in Pcola. Could you tell me the date you got hurt? I would like to talk to you when possible also.
Hey Russ, glad to hear you are well. Sorry to hear about you accident, I remember how dark it was up there at night. It is a wonder you stayed on the elevator and didn't roll off, they would never have found you. I was wondering if you remember any of the plane captains that were with us on the cruise. I have spoken to Bob Burlander and hope to find anyone that you may have been in contact with. Drop me a message when you get a chance.
