Hey Bob, have you spoken with Buddy Murray? He sent me a great comment from my discussion that I started yesterday. I have sent it off to my VA rep. for him to put into my claim file.
Hel Robert. I was in q2udron in 1963-1964 a portion of the time on the wes-pak crusie, departed Ranger Dec. 1964. I don't remember very many that were in squadron, I sent most of my time in hanger area working on removing & replacing queen bee parts to
help keeping the planes flying. I too have numerous health issues relating to AO and I have spoken to a few others that have similar issues. Did you possibly go on shore to help repair a plane that had a problem? I did sometime in Aug.-Dec. with had five of six
of us, thought maybe you were part of the group?.
Have you filed any VA claims and been turned down?
Hope you are receiving help and are doing well.
Glad to hear from some of the squadron members and await any reply from you.
I monitor my e-mail daily but don't facebook. I just joined RVAH-Navy group and
Hi Bob - I do remember your name. I was in the disbursing office in Sanford & aboard the USS America. I joint RVAH5 in April 1965 & was sent back to the states for discharge in Aug. 1967. Do you remember Dennis Hoel & Jack Johnson??
I just thought I'd say hello to everyone. Thanks for the note Bob, I haven't kept in touch after I got out in '72. After a few years of "Bumming around" I wound up in Miami with Dade County Sheriff's Dept. in 79-80 then went Federal as a Police Officer. I got some good "duty" at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport Ms., retiring with 26yrs in 2005. Went through Katrina 2 months later, lost everything, but gradually recouped. Love the Ms. coast, great retirement country. Hope all is well with you, got any memories to share...I'm open :)
Thanks for the welcome aboard. My name is Steve Weaver, ADJ-3/2 and I was attached to Heavy-6 in the Power/Plants shop. I was in 1972-1976, stationed at NAS Albany, Ga. and NAS Key West, Fl. I got out and went to Art School on the old G.I. Bill; graduated in 1979 from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Spent 20 years in the Glass Container Industry as a glass package designer. I've been with the Academy of Model Aeronautics for the past 13 1/2 years as a Graphic Designer and Award Engraver. Check out the T-Shirt design posted on the RVAH-6 Facebook page. I'm looking forward to reconnecting with old squadron buddies.
