Just noticed your history with 13. Although I spent just 4 years in the Navy I had a reverse history to yours. When I got out of boot camp in May of 1966 I went to Saufley Field and was a plane captain for the T-34B. My slot in A School opened up, went to Memphis then to Heavy 3 as an AQB-3 for a couple of years, moving to Albany and then to H 13 as an AQB-2 after its return from the America, then on to a Med Cruise in the winter of 1969-70. When discharged I went to work for AT&T as a trainer then on to MCI Telecommunications where I retired as Director of Network Engineering. Have to say it must have been quite a transition for you going from the Vig to the Mentor. You had quite an adventure in the Navy...
Welcome Aboard! My Dad left RVAH 13 shortly after the move to Albany, so we definitely crossed paths then. What I found most interesting about your career was that when I was Active Duty I was attached to VP-44 (late 80's) and then COMPATWING FIVE (early 90's) in Brunswick. I'll be finishing my career in a couple years in the Reserves, with VR-58 in Jacksonville.
