  • Hi Richard,

I'm sorry about the start up incident at Cubi Pt., thing is I can't remember that but if you said it happened you must be right. I hate to think that was the only you reason you remember me. Must be my diabetes screwing with my memory again. Yes, no one can recall I was on a Detachment in DaNang April 71. Except the fact Artie Fricchione remembers me being in Cubi twice, once because he didn't want to go and I took his place. All my searches came up empty, problem was the Navy threw out the flight manifest for my inbound 30 days after I arrived there as well as the outbound. No one knows what happened to the squadron TDY records. So I just figured I'm screwed, their were other guys in other squadrons in the Air Wing the same thing happened to so I don't feel alone. Anyway hope your happy & well, since I turned 65 thing have been going down hill for me. Getting old sucks !!!                  Take care & be well.

"Heavy One was my first command.  I was there from 1968 to 1972 and had a ball.  I made the reunion in Jacksonville a few years ago and had a fine old time but no one from my era was present.  Will probably go if a few of us from that time are…"

"Jim,
Sorry to hear of your condition.  I went through all of my old records that they give us when they clear the service record on transfer.  Strangely, I have nothing for my time in Heavy One either.  I have TAD orders from all other commands…"

"I remember you being on that cruise.  You were the plane captain that gave the start signal while I was down the intake of the number two engine while we were on the beach in Cubi Point.  Matter of fact, the skipper was the pilot.  Your picture is…"

"Hi,
Sure do remember you. That was a long time ago - almost 40 years IRK. Life is good on this end and hope things are going real well for you too.
