I came on board the Kitty Hawk mid cruise around March 71. I was mess cooking for a month then made 3rd class probably same time as you did with a ceremony on the ship and a ticket up to the CNI shop. I can't remember much else anymore, but Don Bailey and some of the other guys had some good pictures. If you are on facebook I can get u into our own group.

Hi Ralph. We were in Chief Carr's CNI shop on the Hawk and at NAS Albany. Lost touch with everybody, but like you Don Bailey hooked me up. We got a facebook page called Heavy-6. See if you can get on there.
