My dad was a pilot in '13 when you were there, and we have something else in common. Since '98 I've been involved in supporting flight ops in Antarctica. My first year with the program was also VXE-6's last. I caught a ride to the Pole with them that year. I was actually offered orders to VXE-6 when I was active duty, but I was finishing my second winter at Keflavik and was looking for something warmer. Shoulda, woulda, coulda... You know how that goes. I jumped at the chance to go there as a contractor in '98 and was instantly hooked. You'd be amazed at the changes. Most of the old buildings are gone, with a few more able exceptions. And we have 24/7 internet access now!
