Jeff Thanks for your comments. They used to have a commercial on tv for the Navy- it was a launch of an RA-5C it was on the air for a very long time. I also saw a vigi on the military channel- it was a story on the crusaders they were launching and they brought a vigi to the cats. the guy speaking said here is one of the most Beutiful planes to grace the flight deck of a carrier.I went to the reunion in Pennsacola at the national air and space museaum. they have a vigi from my squadron RVAH-6 WE got to go outside and get pictures and to touch it (great joy). I Was alone so i found a seat for dinner at a table and just happened to sit next to the guy who was in the backeat of the Vigi we just got pictures of. How great is that!!!!!His name is Gary Spangler. He was also from Heavy-Six Had a great time. Did you know the military was spending thousands of dollars to fly Vigilanti's by remote control -to use for TARGETS to test Missiles on (how Sad). Again thank you for responding SiskaBOB.
Hello Jeff my name is Robert Szyska i was in Heavy-Six 66-70 I worked in corrosion control Not a lot of guys from mich in the heavy squardrons I grew up in Richmond mi. I live near New Haven .I met only one guy in 53 years who was in a Vigi squadron. He owns an Italian Restarant on garfield and 17 mile. He was in Heavy- 7 nice guy- great food. No one up here even knows what an RA-5C is Good chatting to you
