  • Jim,

Sorry to hear of your condition.  I went through all of my old records that they give us when they clear the service record on transfer.  Strangely, I have nothing for my time in Heavy One either.  I have TAD orders from all other commands except that one.  I'm thinking that I might come across them in another box and will keep looking and will let you know if I find them.  I don't think I was exposed to Agent Orange while in Da Nang but was while at NKP.  Luckily, I have no problems & will be 69 in a couple of months so think I dodged a bullet.  I wish you well and hope that either I or someone else can find something on you at Da Nang.

  • I remember you being on that cruise.  You were the plane captain that gave the start signal while I was down the intake of the number two engine while we were on the beach in Cubi Point.  Matter of fact, the skipper was the pilot.  Your picture is in the cruise book.  That was a very memorable experience for me but I don't remember you on any of my dets to Da Nang.  Hope this helps some.

  • Jim I need your E mail address lost it when updating my computer not home right now. Serious medical concerns out at my daughters house in Ohio. Artie

  • Hi James

I was down in Virginia visiting my daughter and grand kids.I work harder when I visit them than if I stay home. Its great to hear from you. It's hard to believe so many years have gone by.It's a part of my life I will never forget. We had a closeness like a family.I worked for Grumman Aerospace for 22yrs as a Plane Captain/Crew chief on the F-14 flight test program.A plane captain in civilian life is much different from Navy plane captains duties .You are responsible for the entire A/C your assigned to.I worked on A/C#2(the spin recovery flight test A/C)and A/C#14 the first fully loaded F-14.Worked out of the Naval Flight Test facility Patuxent River Maryland and made my way back aboard the a/c carriers Forestal and Enterprise for F-14 Carrier Suitability Trials.Navy could not deploy until the F-14 was certified for carrier use.So much to catch up on.My home phone # 1-631-730-7731(Home).Call any time.If not home leave message and I

will definately call back. When is good time to call you.
