KW as a photo systems instructor was supposed to be my next duty station after the WestPac on the Ranger in 1972-3 , but they would not let me reenlist after my accident. Teaching was always one of my goals in life, and I finally achieved it in 1997 at the local community college where I taught computer systems and electronics and retired last year.
I was a PH2 in Heavy 5 until 09/73. You may have replaced me. I know there was several (Esteridge, Johnson, and Ramsey) due to get out just before or during the Ranger cruise. Can you give me some names of the guys in photoline and IOIC that you worked with?
I was in "Heavenly 11" 70 to 74. Joined the squadron mid cruise (Indy Med). Did an extended WestPac on Connie and another Med on JFK). Transferred to NAMTD 1002 in KW to teach photo systems until 1977. Wound up in the submarine community and stayed until 1988 for a full 30 years. Hope to see you at this years NANP Convention in San Antonio. I also live in FL in the Tampa area.
