Vince Monroe was a good friend of my father's, Capt Ray Murphy. His body was repatriated in 1978, Charlie James was his pilot when they were shot down and he returned in 1973. He lives in Florida.
I do remember Tom Kilcline, his wife and children. We had a great Thanksgiving meal at his home in San Diego as we were deploying on the Kittly Hawk, He had his deep draft at that point in time. I received a querry asking the identity of Cdr Kilclines BN when he was with RVAH-11. The request was from his son. LCDR Vince Monroe was his BN. He was shot down over Vinh and never returned.
Harvey,
I certainly do remember you. I don't recall the blender, did you ever give it back?
Please give my best to your wife and say hi to Wayne for me.
I did have a lot of fun in the Navy and my days in RVAH-11 were some of the best. I suppose you know Skipper Kilcline's son is now Vice Admiral Kilcline and still on active duty. Sadly, TJ passed away several years ago.
I seldom get out West, but if you have a reason to come to Florida, you always have a bunk and a cold beer in Pensacola.

"Neil - Don't know if you remember me as I was only with RVAH-11 from when we deployed on Forrestall's '67 WESTPAC "fire cruise" and the double back on Kitty Hawk until late Nov. when we reached Japan. I was medivac'd to Subic Bay hospital and then…"
