Sorry to hear Bob Waggy's no longer with us. As I said, I last saw him in Jax a few years ago. Right after I made Chief, he was the Motor Pool dispatcher at NAS Boca Chica. I was down there doing drug interdiction flights with VS-31. I had to go up to the pool to check out a truck for the Det. When I walked in, he just looked at me with a disgusted look on his face, shook his head and stated "Gawd! The people they make Chiefs these days!" I asked him if he'd had any problems with landcrabs getting into his iced tea mug lately. He started laughing and told me he always wondered who was the SOB who slipped it into his mug just before maintenance meeting at the fleet hangar. The look on his face when he came face to googly crab face was priceless. I did not, however, epoxy his coffee cup to the plexiglass countertop. I must say he dealt with it calmly. He chiseled the plexiglass around the base of the cup and stated that now he wouldn't have to worry about it tipping over. Heck of a guy!
Hey Chief ! I'd like to talk to Mike if you have his email address. Send me an e mail at chiefcat@g-net.net. I am in touch with Herb MAson, ATC; PHC Al McCoy, Bill Mcneese, ATCS and AFCM "Pappy" Ely. What are you doing with your life since retiring? I went to work at a Caterpillar dealer in equipment sales for twenty before I retired. Settled back in coastal Georgia. Would love to see all at a heavy One reunion.
