Hi, doubt if you remember me from RVAH 13 line crew from 66-67 cruise on the Hawk, but I was a cat checker and worked with Tilly, and Terry Fulton. Do you remember a Richard Duley who said he was on the cruise and worked the line? I have checked both my 13 and Hawk cruise books and can't find his name anywhere. He seem to know a lot of the people who were there, but just seems odd I can't find his name anyplace or do I remember him.
Well Fred , almost bought a condo in south padre area on a inland bay area ! Just before the big bridge Was a sweet setup , had a walkout to the boat dock , two floor , built in garage two bedroom I think ! All for 99 k , but couldn't pay the flood / storm insurance , was back in 80's !
Howdy Fred , Hope your doing OK ? Had a time share once in Brownsville ! Dropped it then later found out it was turned into a senior home or something like it !
Enlisted the first time in August 62. I went to Saufley Field for 10 months waiting for photo school to open, I became a tow tractor driver. After photo school I went to VAH-9, soon becoming RVAH-9 and school for the photo system. Did a Med Cruise, then fast turn around to South China Sea. Was discharged after Vietnam extention. I had intended to career in the Navy, but it was an unusual time for continuing and I chose to leave, but I couldn't stay out for long and returned 20 years later.
I appreciate your kind words, and I know that Dad would, too. I don't know if it was widely known in the squadron, but Dad was prior Enlisted and he had a great respect for the men who kept those birds flying. Hope all is well with you.
Ray Vehorn was my Dad. He passed away 5 years ago. I'm an AT1, now in the Reserves. Spent a week aboard the Kitty Hawk in '06 and couldn't help but think of the good men that left her deck for the last time during those WESTPAC's. It was good to hear from you.

Hi Fred; Good to here from you. I keep in touch with both Rickers and Sutton from the Admin Office.
Hello Mr. Drew,
Ray Vehorn was my Dad. He passed away 5 years ago. I'm an AT1, now in the Reserves. Spent a week aboard the Kitty Hawk in '06 and couldn't help but think of the good men that left her deck for the last time during those WESTPAC's. It was good to hear from you.
Cheers,
