Henry Danley here. I take highway 19 when I go down to Lake Placid to visit family and friends which passes not too far from your place. Retired after 30 years in 97. Still doing contract work for the military in Orange Park. I live in Green Cove Springs on 6+ acres in a Log home. Enjoying life!!
Hi Fred, I was in RVAH~5 1970-1971, in the AME shop, I live in on the East side of DeLand on Periwinkle Ave. I didn't make the 71-72 Wespac cruise, I was discharged after the ship sailed. Glad you touched base, I have only found 1 guy that I spent any time with from Boot Camp, don't remember many of the guys from the shops.
Yes, I am still alive and kicking. I live in Athens Ohio where I went to college after getting out. All that fast living when we were over seas is catching up to me but I am still healthy and happy. Just retired as a construction engineer from Verizon Wireless in January and I am enjoying every minute of it. Still married to Mary (the girl I met in Memphis while at A school) and have 4 kids. One of whom is retiring from the Navy in a couple of years. Good to see you are still here.
Its been a while, hope all is well by you. Have you ever heard from Mower? I have communicated with Roop Keifer, Jack Winett,Ed Cook and Bud Stile over the years.
Hi Fred. Seems like I must have known you. I graduated hs in Mt. Dora. Was stationed out at Pinecastle for a few years. Got married in Eustis. Spent a lot of time in Eustis as a kid. Worked at Creamons Chevrolet. That's probably not there anymore. Even did some graffiti on that water tower back up behind Waterman hospital on the other side of the hwy.
"Great Pictures Skipper, thanks for sharing, they did bring back lots of memories. I was on The Connie Cruise with in RVAH-5. I hope all is well with you."
"Welcome Larry, my name is Fred Lauderbaugh and I was in RVAH-5 for the Ranger Cruise in 72-73 and the Connie Cruise in 74-75. I was an AT and work line maint. I currently live in Royal Trails just off 44 about 7 miles from the St. Johns. When were…"
"Jack, I'm so glad to see you have slowed down a little and retired. That's fantastic that your son is going to retire from the Navy. I wish you and your family all the best. Please enjoy retirement. From the looks of your picture, you haven't…"
"Al, it's a shame to be a shellback and not have the opportunity to cross the equator again. We didn't go to Australia that year. Fortunately, I was able to cross the equator on the next deployment with H-5 on the Connie. It's a lot better as a…"
"Hi Al. All is well with me. I was glad to see you joined the group. I tied to get in touch with Chip but had no luck. My wife and I are living in Central Florida, not too far from Sanford. We are enjoying life. Thanks for asking. How is every thing…"
"Steve, I've only lived here in Eustis for the last 4 years. I'm originally from the Pittsburgh area. My wife has family in Central Florida and around the Tampa area. We really enjoy this area."
