Olin Ray Miser September 21, 1944 - November 20, 2020
Olin Ray Miser passed away peacefully on November 20, 2020, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. Ray was born in Glendale, California on September, 21, 1944. During his senior year of High School, he enlisted and served his country valiantly as a member of the Armed Forces, Naval Division. After two tours of combat duty he received an honorable discharge due to injuries he sustained while on an aircraft carrier in Vietnam. He went on to join the police force, starting his career in Duncanville, Texas spending the next thirty years protecting and serving his community in and around Dallas County. Ray always went above and beyond even for those he did not know, and received many commendations for his heroism, often putting himself in harm’s way without hesitation.
Born to Mildred K. Harris and Olin Raymond Miser, Sr., he was a devoted husband and is survived by his loving wife, Betty Miser and her children whom he loved as his own, Tricia and Wesley Brumit and his son Raymond Holt. Wesley and his wife Cyndi have four children who lit up his life, Ainsley, Cade, Sawyer and Sammy. Raymond Holt and his wife Tisha live in MO. and have four children and three grandchildren – Victoria, Kevin, David, Jessica, Milan, KyKy, and Kora. He is also survived by his sisters Melva and Karen, nieces Shelly and Kim, and their respective families.
Ray was a Christian who loved Christ and was blessed by many caretakers during his final years, whom he believed were his true angels. A special thank you to Amanda, Bree, and Diana for the love and care they provided as well as the entire staff and his friends at Briarview Assisted Living.
