Obituary for Stephen Toschlog

Stephen C. Toschlog, age 72, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Reid Hospital. Stephen was born in Richmond on April 17, 1944, to Clarence and Florence Toschlog. He had lived in this area all of his life. Stephen was a four year U.S. Navy veteran, and later became a driver for Leaseway Motor Freight, hauling cars for over thirty years. After retiring, he identified himself as a professional bridge player. Stephen was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing cards and watching sports, including Notre Dame football and basketball, and non-professional baseball. He was dedicated to his children and involved with their many activities, enjoying sports, plays, chefs in kitchens. Recently his two year old granddaughter, Libby, had taken over his entire loving heart. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Cheryl Toschlog; his children: Michael Yarlott; Diana Cox; Stephen J. Toschlog; and John C. Toschlog; brother John 'Jack' Toschlog; sisters: Jill Powell, Melissa Toschlog, and Elaine Hamm, granddaughter Elizabeth Cox; his bridge playing friends; nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunt Shirley and a plethora of friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Sally Hutton and brother Don Toschlog. Services for Stephen will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 1 p.m. in Riggle Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Ted Chalk and Deacon Frank Roberts will officiate. There will be a luncheon following at First United Methodist Church.
