Joe was one of the youngest in the community and passed away at a far too young age of 56.

Joseph A. Carlisano Jr., age 56, passed away at his Burnsville home Sept. 3. Joe was a graduate of Apple Valley High School. He went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1978-1982 where he was an airplane mechanic. He spent his time in the service stationed in Key West, Florida, Maine and Spain. Joe was honorably discharged in 1982 and remained in the Naval Reserves for 6 years. Joe made lifelong friends in the Navy whom he continued to visit in Florida. Joe had a 20-plus year career in software sales. His last role as a sales representative was with Syntax in St. Paul. He enjoyed his coworkers and his relationship with his clients. Joe had enormous love for his Jack Russell Terrier, Lola. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, being up north, and Sunday family dinners. His friends and family admired his skills in the kitchen. People were known to swoon over his spicy homemade salsa. Joe will be fondly remembered for his deep love of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Gonzales Carlisano. He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Beverly Carlisano; wife, Marta; daughters, Nicole and Olivia; siblings, Lisa (Gregg Smith), Patti, Mike (Teri), and Chris Kaufenberg (Jim); nephew, Dominic Carlisano; nieces, Elizabeth Olson, Celia Carlisano, Isabel Carlisano, and great nieces Hailey and Madison. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, 9/10, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home,12804 Nicollet Ave. S., Burnsville (952-894-5080). The internment will be at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, 9/11, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly Area 5.
