Anthony Saltalamachea, age 67, of Bluffton, S.C. died May 30, 2017. Mr. Saltalamachea was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 15, 1950, the son of Cuban immigrants Enrique Jose Saltalamachea and Argelia Eufemia Saltalamachea. He lived a hard and well-fought sixty-seven years; he overcame an impoverished upbringing, enlisted with the United States Navy to serve his country during the Vietnam War, and went on to earn a Master of Science at Central Michigan University as he continued a long and successful career in industrial management and logistics. In retirement he was happy to be able to truly enjoy what he loved most: Cuban music, cooking, dancing, and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers Enrique Saltalamachea and Charles Saltalamachea; and sister Argelia Malandrino. Surviving him are his eldest son Michael Saltalamachea, daughter-in-law Jessica Day, and granddaughter Margaret Saltalamachea; son Matthew Saltalamachea; daughter Angela Kirby, son-in-law Drew Kirby, and grandchildren Kayla Kirby (Mooney) and Andrew Kirby, youngest son Mason Saltalamachea; and nieces and nephews Ricardo Saltalamachea, Linda Krute, Vincent Malandrino, Deanna Longo, and Gina Giordano.
